Compact IoT gateway as a configurable Modbus server

Our IIoT Gateway maxx GW4101 is designed and produced for industrial use, incredibly compact and robust. Despite the small design, it has a variety of interfaces and connection options that leave nothing to be desired.

The maxx GW4101 is equipped with a modern processor system and uses a current Linux with mainline kernel as operating system.

The pre-installed Modbus server application maps all inputs and outputs of the Gateway to Modbus registers. This allows the Gateway to be immediately connected to any commercially available process control system via Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU. Due to the integrated LTE transmission technology, the Gateway can also be used as a remote Modbus coupler. This means that it can even be connected to a Modbus master on the other side of the world if necessary.

Can be integrated in any Modbus system

The pre-installed Modbus server application allows our gateways to be connected to any commercially available process control system.

Simple setup

For a quick setup we provide a Modbus register map. This clearly represents the mapping of the inputs and outputs to Modbus registers.

In many cases, complex couplers can be replaced by our robust and space-saving gateways with their wide range of interfaces and connection options.

Diverse interfaces for a wide range of applications

Our Gateway maxx GW 4101 has a sensor interface extension, which provides you with the following interfaces:

  • 4 x 4-20 mA
  • 1-wire interface
  • 4 x RTD (Pt100/PT1000)
  • 16 digital inputs
  • 6 digital outputs

Various sensor data such as temperatures, humidity, vibrations, switching states and much more can now also be queried via Modbus TCP / RTU for processing in the process control system.

Modbus TCP for remote communication
Our Gateways can be queried either via Modbus RTU, i.e. via the RS-485 interface, or via Modbus TCP, i.e. Ethernet or mobile radio. This means that data transmission is enabled either via the local network in production or via a VPN tunnel using encrypted dial-in to the mobile network. Our Gateways can thus also be connected as remote Modbus couplers - if required - with a Modbus client at the other end of the world.
